Urban Calm started with Tara Duncan's love of coffee and one exceptional cup from Huila, Colombia. That cup pulled her deeper into specialty coffee, women-led farms and the people behind the beans.
Years later, perimenopause changed the questions she was asking. Shifts in energy, focus, stress and sleep made Tara look more closely at the routines she relied on every day. Coffee was already one of them.
She began researching Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps and Chaga and asking a simple question: what if the ritual she already loved could do more, without turning coffee into something that tasted like a supplement?
That question became Urban Calm's mushroom coffee. Specialty Colombian coffee still comes first, paired with fruiting body mushroom extracts and a sourcing story rooted in women supporting women at different stages of life. The goal was never to make coffee feel medicinal. It was to make a familiar daily moment more intentional.
